So I haven't blogged in quite some time (and even though I have open house in 1 hour)... I decided now would be the perfect time to catch everyone up on how things are going. I closed on my house (finally!) and had to sign a zillion papers (now I know how celebrities feel). Dad and little brother placed down floors in the master bedroom and closet. Some family came and helped me slap a coat of paint on some of the walls (if only that was as easy as it sounds). My cousin is uprooting my backyard as we speak (he is the best!). The bug man is stopping by in the A.M. (so long, spiders!). I got a remote to my garage and can enter through the car, whoo-hoo! (it's like I have super powers!). I haven't moved in quite yet, or atleast not all of me. I've got to have it sprayed (first priority), and I've got to snab a hot water heater (for cheap!) before it will be livable. And throw my bedroom suite into the trunk of my car... and I'm good to go! I pray I'm in by next weekend...
Now to go meet the new kiddos! Let's do this!!!

Floors...spiders... and creepers... oh my!
The parents woke me up early at 9:00 this morning to inform me that Lowe's was having a store-wide sale. They told me that the sale included a style of hardwood laminate flooring that matched the one already in my house. (I should probably fill you in by sharing that there are hardwood laminate floors in the den, but the bedrooms all have dirt capturing carpet). Mom and Dad know how I feel about sales (especially considering I have a 10% off coupon), so I rolled out of bed, threw myself together, and drove to meet them at my pending home for a personal color match check. The parents were waiting for me inside with an opened box of planks, that they purchased for me to review. I snapped a couple planks together on top of the carpet, tilted my head from side to side, knelt down like a ninja, and finally decided that the colors did indeed match. Before leaving the house to purchase the flooring, I shared my last night's Lifetime Movie experience with my dad. Lifetime Movies always involve a little love, murder, deception, and basically a bunch of crazy people. The movie I watched last night involved this man who snuck into this woman's garage every night, and hid in her attic. He drugged her while she was asleep... and I'll leave the rest to your imagination. I opened the door to my garage and pointed out the attic entrance, while asking dad if there was any way to fill it with cement. Daddy wasn't paying me much attention, and instead he was walking around the garage pointing out bugs to freak me out. As he was inspecting the surroundings, I heard him say "uh-oh" (Daddy never says "uh-oh"). I now regret even asking him what was wrong in the first place. No... there wasn't a crazy man trying to sneak into the garage... but this was just about as horrible! Daddy found... a... black widow spider on the garage door railing! I thought I was going to pass out right there (I would post a picture of it on here... but I don't want to see it each time I look at my blog). So my lesson for today, thanks to Lifetime Network and spiders, is... garages may not be as safe as you think ::sigh::.

It's a Sock in a Bun!

Through trying this technique, I've come to realize two things:
Realization #1 (negative): There is not a sock in this whole world that is going to produce curls in my hair.
Realization #2 (positive): The sock bun makes my hair look fuller, and gives me a sassy Wilma Flintstone look.
And you know what.... I think I like it.

Free Friday Fun!!
Today consisted of a money saving morning of freebies & cheapies! First up... WINN DIXIE! Do you remember in this post where I talked about "not being the lady that clears the shelves" in stores? Well.. I have a confession... I was just that lady (sorry). I glanced at Winn Dixie's ad today to make sure there wasn't anything that I just had to have... but there was... BROWNIES! In fact, I needed 12 boxes of them! Duncan Hines Brownies were on sale for B1G1 free... AND (here's the exciting part) I had a coupon for B2G1 free! That means I would be buying 12 boxes of brownies for the price of two (under $5)! If you are a teacher, you know that brownies are gold! And it takes two boxes to feed 20 sugar craving kiddos! So... I indeed cleared the shelf. I also had 7 coupons for White Castles for $.50 cents off... which doubles to $1.00. You don't see a lot of these coupons and they expire tomorrow so... I cleared the shelf again. However, I bought some Yoplait yogurt and left plenty behind for others. I apologize to anyone who is going to Winn Dixie today in hopes of brownies and White Castles... I'm usually not like this...
